Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a bad news for Virat Kohli and his team, their movement in UK during the break from bio bubble may be restricted due to news of surging cases of COVID-19 in England. All the 15 members which was part of the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton has re-united with the other members of the test squad in London on Thursday. The players were supposed to take a break with their families for a few days and re-enter a bio bubble on July 14. But according to a report in Inside Sport, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal in an interview said that the board is currently monitoring the situation and a call will be taken depending on the situation.

“We are monitoring the situation and if the condition worsens, we will take a call accordingly, We haven’t taken a final call on it yet.” Arun Dhumal said to InsideSport.co.

With the UK government easing up lockdown restrictions, Virat Kohli & Co was supposed to take vacation. Few members of the Indian team were planning to go to Wimbledon whereas few others were looking forward to watch a EURO 2020 game at Wembley.

England is currently witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases. Over the last two weeks, UK has seen a sharp rise in the number of cases from 5,000 averages in a week to nearly 10,000. It has also put the Euro 2020 semifinals and Final at the Wembley Stadium at jeopardy. However, the UEFA said it will go ahead with the venue as planned if there is no drastic change in the situation.
