Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge relief for the Indian team management, the injury to KL Rahul is not serious. The star batter will fly to UK along with captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The cricketer from Karnataka is likely to travel on June 16 along with the first set of players. He will undergo his rehab in England.

The board is concerned about Rahul’s recurring injuries. The vice-captain of Team India has missed four series in the last seven months with injuries. Furthermore, he had to be sent for scans during IPL 2022 with a nagging hamstring problem. But it was not serious in nature.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) is planning to send its players in batches to UK. The likes of Virat, Rohit and Jasprit Bumrah will be the first set of players to leave for UK on June 16. The rest of the players like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer besides head coach Rahul Dravid will leave for the UK on June 19 from Bengaluru after the 5th T20.

India is scheduled to play a warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24 but KL Rahul is unlikely to be available for that.
