India Red and India Green lock horns in Duleep Trophy

Internet Desk: The first match of the Duleep Trophy started in a grand fashion when India Red locked horns with India Green. The four day format game is being played with the pink ball. Upon winning the toss India Red skipper Dinesh Kartik opted to bat first and his side comfortably ended the innings at 232-5 at the end of Day 1.

The Reds made a brilliant start via their openers Sudip Chatterjee and Priyank Panchal when the duo made a brilliant partnership. Bengal cricketer Sudip was dismissed for 52after he scored a well deserved half century. On the other hand Panchal went on to score a brilliant 105 consisting of 12 boundaries.

Though there was a collapse in the middle order as Ishank Jaggi 23, G Rahul Singh 4 and Rishabh Pant 11 made way to the pavilion scoring just a couple of runs. Currently the skipper Dinesh Kartik 15 and Gowtham 10 are at the crease.

As for the India Green are concerned, credit must be given to the bowlers who restricted the Reds at a optimum score. Aniket Chaudhury scalped a wicket while Karun Nair and Murali Vijay bagged two wickets each.
