India in Australia: Kohli, Rahul in great touch during intra squad match at Sydney

Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli led CK Nayudu XI defeated Ranjit Sinhji XI by 5 wickets in an intra squad match at the Blacktown International Sports Park on Sunday.  Ranji Sinhji XI was captained by KL Rahul. The 40 overs a side match was part of a warm up ahead of the ODI series against Australia which gets underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 27.  Both Kohli and Rahul looked in great touch top scoring for their respective sides. While Rahul played an elegant 83 off 66 balls , Kohli too was at his best as he scored an attacking 91 runs off just 58 balls.

Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan opener for KL Rahul’s team while Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill walked into to open the batting for CK Nayudu XI. BCCI’s official Instagram handle shared the news of the match in a series of pictures Stories. According to the Instagram stories, the start of the match was interrupted by a passing shower. The pictures showed KL Rahul donning the gloves for his team, indicating he will start in the first ODI as a keeper batsman.

The Indian cricketers have been under quarantine ever since arriving in Sydney on November 12. The series kickstarts with the three match ODIs the first of which will be played at the SCG on November 27.
