Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a disappointing Day 3 for the Indians at the Tokyo Olympics. Badminton doubles player Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost to world No.1 Sukamuljo and Gideon in second match. The Indian pair suffered a straight-game loss to World No 1 ranked Indonesian opponents in their second Group A match at the Olympics on Monday. The world number 10 Indian duo could never get into any kind of rhythm and lost 13-21 12-21 in 32 minutes against the top-seeded team. The Indians  now face a must win scenario against England's Ben Lane and Sean Vendy, to stay in medal hunt.

In boxing Ashish Kumar lost in Men’s Middleweight(75kg) round of 32 to China’s Erbieke Tuoheta. The 27-year-old former Asian silver-medallist went down 0-5 in the bout. Ashish is the third Indian boxer to bow out of the mega-event after Vikas Krishan (69kg) and Manish Kaushik (63kg) also exited with opening-round losses. On Wednesday, Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) will be the lone Indian boxer in action when she takes on Germany's Nadine Apetz in the last-16 stage.

India's swimmer Sajan Prakash failed to qualify for the semifinals of the men's 200m butterfly event. He finished with a timing of 1.57.22 but it wasn't good enough for top-16.
