India at Tokyo Olympics: Badminton doubles pair Satwik-Chirag fails to qualify for Q/F despite winning last group match
Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a disappointing end to the Tokyo Olympics campaign for Indian badminton doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. The pair recorded a straight game win over Ben Lane and Sean Vendy of Great Britain but failed to make the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday. Satwik and Chirag won the match 21-17, 21-19 but victory for Chinese Taipei's Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin meant that there was no way the Indian pair would reach the quarter-finals.
Satwik and Chirag lost their previous match against Indonesian pair Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon in straight games 21-13, 21-12. Satwik and Chirag would have been able to go through to the quarter-finals provided world No.3 pair of Yang Lee and Chi-Lin Wang didn't beat the Minions. However the Lee and Wang ended up winning the match 21-18, 21-15, 21-17.
Despite winning two matches out of three, Satwik and Chirag failed to qualify for the quarter finals as only two teams will qualify from the groups.

On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment
