Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha had a stiff neck problem and has not taken the field on Day 3 of the first test match against New Zealand at Green Park in Kanpur. The Bengal stumper is being attended by BCCI medical staff.

KS Bharat was seen keeping wickets in place of Wriddhiman. With Rishabh Pant being rested for the test series Bharat was included in the test squad as the second wicket keeper.

“Wriddhiman Saha has stiffness in his neck. The BCCI medical team is treating him and monitoring his progress. KS Bharat will be keeping wickets in his absence,” the BCCI said in a statement.

37-year-old Wriddhiman Saha has failed to find favour with the team management recently. Rishabh Pant has been preferred over the Bengal glovesman. He failed with the bat in the first innings, scoring just one run.

With KS Bharat included in the side, it will be interesting if he gets a chance in the second test at Mumbai starting from December 3.
