Ind vs Aus, 2nd ODI: Starc, Marsh stars for Australia as they thrash India by 10 wickets to level series

Xtra Time Web Desk: Australia thrashed India by ten wickets in the second ODI match, held at the YS Raja Reddy Cricket Stadium in Vishakapatnam on Sunday. Chasing a modest target of 118 runs, Australia cruised to victory, reaching 121/0 in just 11 overs. Mitchell Marsh played a blistering knock of 66 runs off just 36 balls, including six fours and six sixes, while Travis Head remained unbeaten at 51 runs off 30 balls.

Earlier, India had a disastrous start to their innings and were bowled out for 117 runs in just 26 overs. Mitchell Starc made full use of helpful conditions to take 5 for 53. The left-arm pacer, picked five wickets, including that of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, and Axar Patel. Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis also contributed with two wickets each.

India’s batting collapse was evident from the fact that only two batsmen managed to reach double digits, with Axar Patel top-scoring with an unbeaten 29 off 29 balls. The Indian team’s inability to cope with the swinging ball and the pace of the Australian bowlers was exposed once again.

This victory sees Australia level the three match ODI series 1-1. The third and final ODI will be held on Wednesday, March 22 in Chennai.
