Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra presented his signed javelin to PM Narendra Modi on Monday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met with the Indian contingent who participated at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics. He also met the medal winning athletes at his residence in Delhi over breakfast.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister interacted with the athletes at their respective tables and took group pictures at each Table, then interacted freely with all.

Tokyo Olympics gold medal winning javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra presented the Prime Minister his signed javelin. Shuttler P V Sindhu, who won bronze at Tokyo presented a signed racquet. Assam’s first medal winner in Olympics Lovlina Borgohain presented a pair of signed boxing gloves to the Prime Minister. Indian men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh presented a hockey stick signed by all members of the bronze medal winning team to the Honourable Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister fulfilled his promise as he had ice-cream with two times Olympic medallist PV Sindhu. PM also had churma with Neeraj Chopra as promised before he left for Tokyo.

In his Independence Day speech on Sunday, the PM had applauded the Indian Olympic athletes and said the country was proud of them for bringing glory to the nation and that their feat has inspired the future generations.
