Kolkata: The drama regarding the Kolkata Derby got a new turn on Saturday as CFL league sub-committee has announced that the Kolkata Derby will be played on 7th September at Kalyani only and Mohun Bagan sent another e-mail to The IFA by claiming the necessity to have proper security at Kalyani. They also claimed to organize the Derby at the Salt Lake Stadium which was immediately turned down by The IFA due to permission issues.

Mohun Bagan official Debasish Dutta said to xtratime.in,”The IFA needs to produce ensured security system regarding the derby. Unless we cannot risk the lives of the supporters. It is not just about the security during the game but also the off the field security which we are concerned of.”

Mohun Bagan also made a significant point by saying,”The guy against whom we filed the F.I.R, was too from Naihati, which is in the catchment area of the derby venue. May be it was just a tip of the ice. Who will take the responsibility if something bizarre happens?”.

Though East Bengal refused to make any comment on this issue, The IFA Secretary said,”We will let them know the required information accordingly. They should not have to worry.”

The IFA is yet to ensure the security system at Kalyani and it is indeed will be a daunting task for the Nadia police to handle the security for the first ever Kolkata derby in their district.
