Xtra Time Web Desk: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on Tuesday said it will be a special occasion for his team to play in the ICC World Test Championship Final against India. Williamson, who joined the bubble at the Ageas Bowl on Monday, the venue for the mega final is excited about the three test matches that are coming up (two against England and the WTC Final).

While winning the WTC final match and claiming a title is the Black Caps’ ultimate goal, they also want to win the two-match series against England beforehand, and aren’t treating those contests as merely part of their preparations for the big one.

“I haven't really looked at it like it is lead-in time,” Williamson said of the next four weeks, where he is hoping his team can secure their first series win on English soil since 1999.

“The first challenge, which is the first test against a very, very strong side, is what we need to be focusing on, and I know as a group that's what we'll be talking about.

“But at the same time, we're playing three tests quite close together, so there is, at the back of your mind, an eye on that, which is a really exciting opportunity.

“I know the guys are really excited. Just being here to play test cricket is always a fantastic opportunity, but to play that third one which is the World Test Championship final is pretty special.”
