ICC CWC 2019: Big surprise as the selectors pick 15-member squad for the World Cup

XtraTime Web Desk: The BCCI selectors have picked a 15-member squad for the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in England, where they will be aiming to win their third world title.

Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu missed out on selection in the squad.

India’s World Cup squad: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma (vc), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja,  Mohammed Shami.

Virat Kohli’s side will open their campaign against South Africa on June 5 in Southampton, with the last of their nine group matches to be against Sri Lanka at Headingley on July 6.

The highly-anticipated clash against rivals Pakistan will be at Old Trafford on June 16, while the Indians also face blockbuster games against defending champions Australia at The Oval on June 9 and tournament favourites England at Edgbaston on June 30.
