XtraTime Web Desk : The Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan is going to be challenging according to International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Greg Barclay. In a recent interview, he claimed the show piece tournament in 2025 to be a bit tricky owing to the Sociopolitical Relations between India and Pakistan.

Recently, ICC published their venues for all the international tournaments from 2024-2031. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) got the opportunity to host the 2025 Champions Trophy. This came as a surprise to many cricket enthusiasts over the world as they haven’t hosted any ICC tournament since 1996. Also, the tournament is going to be tough to conduct because of the relations between India and Pakistan which has led to the stoppage of Bilateral Series between the two nations.

In a recent interview, the ICC president Barclay said, “Yeah, we know it’s a particularly challenging issue to work through, but from my point of view, I cannot control geopolitical forces. I just hope cricket can be a force to help improve relationships between countries. That is the one great thing sport can do is help people and nations come together. If it can help in contributing to that, then it is fantastic.”
