I missed an opportunity to finish the game, rather than scoring a hundred: Prithvi Shaw

Xtra Time Web Desk: Young Prithvi Shaw left a long lasting impression by playing a brilliant knock of 99 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2019 match at Kotla on Saturday. The 19 years old did not hide his disappointment of not winning the match for Delhi Capitals in the stipulated 20 overs.

“I thought I missed the opportunity to finish the game rather than scoring that one run. I was trying to hit as I didn’t wanted the game to go as much closer as it went. Finally in the super over Rabada bowled well and we deserved this win,” said Prithvi in the post match presentation ceremony.

The youngster did not have had the start he would have liked. On being asked what he did different so as to come back to form, a confident Shaw said, “I talked with our support staff – Ricky (Ponting) Sir and Sourav (Ganguly) Sir. I also talked with Praveen Sir (Praveen Amre). But after hitting two fours I just kept my focus and said to myself not to do silly things. I just changed my plan an try to hit along the ground.”

“I would like to carry the same attitude and give my 100 percent in the games ahead,” signed off a confident looking Prithvi Shaw.
