IPL 2019: What was Rabada thinking during the super over?

XtraTime Web Desk: South Africa’s star pacer Kagiso Rabada bowled a sensational over in the super over for Delhi Capitals as the home side beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling encounter. After Prasidh Krishna bowled a fantastic super over against Delhi everyone thought that it will be a cake walk for KKR to win the game as they had Andre Russell. But they failed to score 11 runs in the super over thanks to a brilliant bowling by Rabada. Though Russell hit him for a boundary on the first ball Rabada kept his cool and bowled a dot ball after that.

In the third ball the lanky pacer bowled a yorker with a speed of 147kmph which shattered the middle stump of Russell. After that KKR failed to hold their nerves and only scored 7 in the super over. After bowling a classic super over Rabada revealed that the team management wasn’t sure who would bowl the super over and then their bowling coach James Hopes came to him and told him he will be bowling.”  We weren’t sure who was going to bowl and then Hopesy came up to me and said I was going to bowl that over,” said Rabada.

Though Rabada was nervous ahead of the game but he held his nerve in the crucial moment.” Obviously lots of nerves. I just saw it as a simulation and glad it paid off,” added the Proteas.

Rabada also said that his primary aim was to bowl Yorkers and it paid off.”You have to keep your wits about you and be really clear on what you have to bowl. I just went with yorkers and it worked in the end. I was clear and backed my plan,” concluded Rabada.
