Sabyasachi Bagchi - Bangladesh star footballer and national team captain, Jamal Bhuyan finally wants to play in the I-League for Mohammedan Sporting. The No. 7 jersey holder has informed his current club Saif Sporting about this. Its now just a bit of time till we see Jamal in the iconic black and white jersey. That is what Wasim Akram, the secretary of Mohammedan Sporting, said with enthusiasm over the phone. The I-League is going to start from January 8. As per speculations, Jamal will set foot in the city at the beginning of December. Besides, Wasim also said that the team will play the pre-season twice in their own field and not in Digha.

Despite playing in the I-League for Mohammedan Sporting, Jamal will still play in the second round for Bangladesh Premier League club, Saif Sporting, which he told to the club owners of Bangladesh. The second phase of Bangladesh League may start on April 30 next year. Saif Sporting’s all-rounder Mohammad Nasiruddin Chowdhury has played a big role in bringing Jamal to India. As expected, he is also very happy with the move of the football icon of Bangladesh.

Jamal played at the Yuvbharati Stadium against India in the qualifying round of the Qatar World Cup. Saduddin gave Bangladesh the lead by scoring a goal in that match from his free kick. Adil Khan equalized for India at the end of the game.

Jamal now has his eye on India. If all goes well, the I-League could start in the first week of January. Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting has become the champion in the second division I-League. The Kolkata club will be seen playing in the I-League again after seven years.
