I-League 2018/19: Why is Ranjit Bajaj on back-foot?

XtraTime Web Desk: A huge blow for Minerva Punjab owner Ranjit Bajaj as the Delhi High Court on Friday rejected the plea regarding the defending champion’s challenge about the decision of India Football Federation’s (AIFF) league committee about not postponing the I-League match between Real Kashmir FC and Minerva Punjab FC after the Pulwama terrorist attack.

The plea was rejected after the Minerva Punjab’s counsel informed the apex court that the AIFF’s League Committee will meet in New Delhi on February 25 to take a decision on this matter.

Minerva’s counsels Abhimanyu Tewari and Amitabh Tewari had filed a plea, requesting the AIFF league committee to postpone their match with Kashmir which was scheduled to take place at the TRC Ground in Srinagar on February 18.

“The decision of the AIFF not to postpone the match is inequitable and has been taken without taking the situation into account and without accounting for the safety of the players and the spectators,” the plea added.

Though while talking to www.xtratime.in Minerva Punjab owner Ranjit Bajaj denied the rejection of the plea.” The apex court hasn’t rejected our plea. Honorable judge has given a stay order on our case. After the AIFF’s League Committee’s decision we can again file a case at the court.”
