I-League 2018/19: Indian Arrows stun Mohun Bagan 3-1 in Mehtab Hussain’s final game

Kolkata: Mohun Bagan stunned by Indian Arrows in their last home game 3-1 to spoil the Mehtab Hossain’s farewell party. It was the home side who took the lead in the 17 th minute as Azharuddin Mallick guided the ball into the net from Sony Norde’s low cross as the ball deflects off Anwar Ali and then Asish Rai while going in.


Indian Arrows strike back in the 28 th minute as Arijit Bagui gave away a freekick after a push on Rahul KP and Anwar’s delivery is spilt by Bagan goalkeeper Ricardo Cardozo. Amarjit and Sarkar followed up and the latter slots into the net.
Rahul KP scored in the 79 th minute as Amarjit Singh released the ball to Boris Singh on the right and the fullback went into the box to cut back in to lay it for Rahul and the Kerala-born scored with the Bagan defence all over the place.
Rohit Danu scored for the Arrows with a brilliant volley in the injury time of the game as Cardozo went out of the box. His header went to Danu and he slotted it from 40 yards into an empty net.
Arrows got plenty of chances in the game while Bagan struggled to cope up with the pace the young players provided in the pitch.
