Kolkata: Huge blow for Mohun Bagan ahead of the derby as their Haitian superstar Sony Norde is ruled out because of injury.
The Haitian winger was struggling with his injury in the last few days but hia club was trying their best to make him available for the Kolkata derby on Sunday.
Today in the joint pre-match press conference, Mohun Bagan gaffer Shankarlal Chakraborty said, “Yes, Sony is ruled out of the derby for his hamstring injury. He will also be out of football for the next two weeks. He is a top player but we have won derbies without him as well.”
East Bengal gaffer Alejandro Menendez Garcia told, “I know in a long league like this, injuries happen. Clubs miss their key players. I am not surprised with the incident. It’s all part of life.”
