I-League 2018/19: Churchill Brothers beat the league leaders Chennai City FC, makes the league more interesting

XtraTime Web Desk: Too close but too far for Chennai City FC to lift the I League title as they lost to Churchill brothers 3-2 at Tilak Maidan, Goa. Willis Plaza missed his hat trick chance as he scored two goals in the game.
Now the league toppers have to win the last game against defending champions Minerva Punjab FC to lift the title.
Chennai scored the first goal in the 30 th minute as Sandro Rodriguez took the free-kick and the ball ricocheted off the wall, wrong-foots the goalkeeper and nestles into the left bottom corner.

Willis Plaza pulled Churchill Brothers level with a side-footed finish. Just when the home team was struggling to string few passes together and Chennai City had the upper hand; Plaza finds himself at the right place at the right time and meets the cross from the left wing.

In the 50 th minute, Christ Lorougnon lashed the ball in at Mauro’s near post and the home team went ahead.

In the 61 st minute Romario received a cross on the right with just the ‘keeper to beat, but his side-footed attempt floated just wide off the post.

Chennai came back as Pedro Manzi scored from the spot in the 68 th minute.
Once again Plaza scored his 20 th goal in the campaign as he won the ball on the edge of the box and bends his shot past the keeper to put Churchill ahead for the third time in the game.
