Pic Courtesy: XtraTime[/caption] Kolkata: After a draw against Aizawl FC in the first game followed by a loss against arch- rivals Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata derby, city giants East Bengal put up a five star performance against Shillong Lajong FC at Barasat to register their first victory in the ongoing I-league campaign. East Bengal took a perfect revenge of the 5-0 which they suffered in 2015 playing a away match at Shillong East Bengal blew their opponents by a massive scoreline of 5-1 as the Red and Gold brigade dominated the entire game. With two goals in the first half, the East Bengal looked desperate to win the game. After Willis Plaza missed a one-on-one in the 10th minute, the first goal came in the 14th minute of the match when Mahmoud Al Amna. East Bengal doubled their lead minutes later when the Eduardo Ferreira headed home in the 19th minute off a Katsumi Yusa corner. Shillong looked to comeback in the second half as the Kolkata outfits completely dominated the first half but to much avail. The second half witnessed 4 more goals in total. A solo brilliant goal in the 52nd minute from Laldanamwia Ralte saw 3-0 for the home side as Shillong gasped to pull one back. Ralte scored again in the 65th minute to make it 4-0. Katsumi Yusa scored a brilliant penalty make it 5-0 and add more salt to the wound. However Shillong pulled one back late in the 86th minute by Samuel's goal but it was too late for the visitors. Laldanamwia Ralte was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his brilliant brace while East Bengal would be considerably happy for their splendid performance against the team from the hills.
