Bumrah was officially ruled out of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 on Monday. The Indian pace spearhead complained about a back pain in Trivandrum and was immediately rushed to National Cricket Academy. Scan reports revealed he had a stress related problem with his back that will require at least 4-6 weeks to recover.
Meanwhile, BCCI is yet announce the replacement for Bumrah. Mohammad Shami, one of the four standbys, should have been the straightforward candidate to replace Bumrah. But there are still concerns about Shami’s fitness and hence selectors are now also mulling over the name of Mohammed Siraj.
