Hundreds from Virat & Shubman while Siraj takes 4-fer as India script record 317 run win against Sri Lanka | INDvsSL

Xtra Time Web Desk: Tons from Virat Kohli (166 off 110), Shubman Gill (116 off 97) and four wickets by Mohammed Siraj help India script a record 317 runs win against Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI at Thiruvanthapuram on Sunday. Batting first India posted 390 runs on the board and bowled out Sri Lanka (73 for 9) in just 22 overs to complete a 3-0 sweep of the ODI series.

India’s 317-run margin of win is the highest in ODI cricket. Mohammed Siraj bowled with full steam as he rattled the Sri Lanka batters on a good batting pitch at the Greenfield International Stadium. Siraj finished with figures of 4/32.

Virat Kohli scored his 46th ODI ton, which was also his third ton in his last four innings. Kohli hit 8 sixes and 13 boundaries in his whirlwind knock.

Shubman Gill justified his selection as he smashed 116 in just 97 balls. It was Gill’s first ODI hundred as he proved his doubters wrong after having been picked ahead of Ishan Kishan, who hit a double hundred in his last ODI knock, for the opener’s role with Rohit.

Chasing 391 runs to win, Sri Lanka looked rattled as Mohammed Siraj breathed fire with the new-ball, showcasing that one can get help from the surface which looked flat in the first innings.
