How exactly did the injury to Ravindra Jadeja happen and why it could have been avoided?

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India all rounder Ravindra Jadeja is all set to miss the upcoming T20 World Cup because of the freakish injury. It is now learnt that how exactly Jadeja got injured. He was part of the team bonding activity in the ‘backwater’ facility of the Hotel TH8 Palm before the Super 4 clash against Pakistan. All the players were asked to do different fun activities like skiing, rafting etc. Jadeja was doing some balancing on a roller board when he slipped and twisted his knee. It was absolutely a freakish injury which could have been avoided. Now the question is was it absolute necessary to have a team bonding activity which was not part of training manual.

Jadeja had to fly back to Mumbai and undergo a surgery under the guidance of BCCI consultant and senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala.

The question being asked right now was the team bonding activity on back waters required ahead of an important tournament like T20 World Cup. It is learnt the Board officials have not taken the matter well as Jadeja is an integral member of the team. According to reports there will be some explanation required from the team management. The team bonding activity is believed to be the brainchild of mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton and Head Coach Rahul Dravid.

Ravindra Jadeja has been a key player for India across formats. And his absence from the upcoming T20 World Cup will be a huge blow for the Indian team.
