Xtra Time Web Desk : Former Manchester United superstar David Beckham has recently opened up on his thoughts about the club’s disastrous 2021-22 season and has expressed his hopes for Cristiano Ronaldo to stay for another year or two at the Red Devils even after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Speaking to Sky Sports during the Miami Grand Prix event about the five time Ballon d’Or winner, Becks said, “He [Ronaldo] is still doing what he does best; scoring goals and creating. To be doing what he is doing at his age is really incredible, so hopefully it continues and he stays for another year or two,”

Opening up on United’s unimpressive season, Beckham added, “I think there are changes to be made and changes that are happening, we’ve seen that,” Beckham said. It’s been a tough end to the season. But it is the end of the season, I’m sure a lot of the fans are thankful of that because it’s been a tough one – full of ups and downs. The players have done what they can do best, so has the manager. I turned up at the stadium a few months back and every seat was filled so the fans still believe, they support, they turn up for the team. It’s what United fans do. There’s not many teams to have gone through what they’ve gone through in the last few years and still filling out their stadium. There will be changes.”

Now, with Manchester United already announcing the signing of their new manager in Erik Ten Haag, it will be interesting to see if it convinces the Portuguese superstar to stay in England for another year or two.
