Two of the craziest fans of Kolkata football giants and arch rivals Mohun Bagan and East Bengal are now battling with their lives against all odds. Although they support different clubs but they have one thing in common as they both are fighting with cancer. Xtratime.in has come forward to take a noble initiative to stay beside these two fans who are fighting cancer. The basic idea is to come forward and support them in their lone battle . Xtratime.in will be organizing a charity auction to raise funds for them. The sports fraternity will be coming forward to help in whatever way they can in support of these two die-hard fans. The charity event will take place at Hotel Aauris on June 11, 2016. The auction will have various items used by the sports persons along with memorabilia's which will be up for grabs. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has given his consent to be part of the noble cause. Joining hands with Sourav in this noble cause will be the entire sports fraternity of the city. Footballers like Sony Norde, Jose Ramires Barreto, Ranti Martins  and East Bengal coach Trevor James Morgan have all contributed in whatever way they can. Indian football icon Bhaichung Bhutia along with the present national captain Sunil Chhetri will also be contributing for the charity. According to Anilava Chatterjee, organizer of the charity and Director of Greymind Communication, “We who are actively associated with the sports world firmly believe that any game is not limited to its players and officials only. We keep a bull’s eye inside the boundaries of playing ground, while the game is on. But it is the fans that draw a larger than life image of the players and the game. The same adrenaline rushes inside us through as we are humans too. It is our duty as a human being to stand besides those people who has taken the sports forward to its place where it is now. So, my appeal to everyone who love sports to come forward and help us in our cause to raise fund for the treatment of both Bapi and Alip.I hope everyone will join us in our endeavor and make our initiative a grand success.” It will be for the first time when an event is being organized involving two die-hard fans of rival clubs. So, let’s not waste a time and come forward to pledge for Bapi and Alip.
