French Open 2021: Indian challenge ends at Roland Garros as Sumit Nagal crashes out too in Qualifiers

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian challenge at the French Open 2021 Qualifiers ended with country’s No 1 Sumit Nagal crashing out too after Ankita Raina and Ramkumar Ramanathan.

Sumit lost in straight sets 6-3,6-3 to Alejandro Tabilo . The Indian managed to stage a mini-comeback in the 2nd set after being a breakdown but lost a 3-1 advantage. He was knocked out in Round 2.

Earlier Ankita Raina and Ramkumar Ramanathan too were knocked out of the Qualifiers of French Open 2021. Greet Minnen of Belgium defeated India’s Ankita Raina in straight sets in the second qualifier match of Roland Garros 2021 on Wednesday. Ramanathan too lost 6-1,6-2 in the second qualifier to Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin. He won the first qualifier against R Marcora 6-1,6-3.

As a result the Indian challenge in the singles ended this season at the Roland Garros.
