Kolkata: There has been a huge trending among football fans in Kolkata about Mohun Bagan’s new marquee signing. It is heard that Mohun Bagan are set to sign former Southampton centre-back Scottish Daniel ‘Danny’ Seaborne. It is also heard Bagan’s newest signing Scottish striker Darryl Duffy is helping the Bagan officials to complete the signing.
Daniel ‘Danny’ Seaborne, who last played for Scottish Premiership side Partick Thistle. The center back, with a plethora of experience in the English lower divisions, may join the Mariners after spells at Exeter City, Southampton and Coventry City.
The club also made a move to bring two foreign defenders on trials earlier this summer, namely Massamba Sambou of Senegal and Aaron Katebe of Zambia. However, neither of them actually got the go ahead from head coach Sanjoy Sen to join the practice sessions.
Mohun Bagan officials and coaches are keeping mum about this issue and completely denying any such fact. Finance secretary, Debasish Dutta said, “I am not aware of any such news. Frankly speaking I am much more concerned about Duffy right now who is new to these conditions.”
