Xtratime Web Desk :- Mohammad Azharuddin was one of the finest captain in the history of Indian Cricket. As captain Under his India famously registered Coca-Cola cup win in the year 1998 played at Sharjah Cricket Grounds. In those days Australia used to be a formidable side. Any win against them was considered an achievement.

By courtesy of a magnificent 134 runs inning that Indian living legend Sachin Tendulkar played on the night of that tournament final India was able to beat the mighty aussies. This innings was famously termed as ‘Desert Storm’ by legendary cricketer turned commentator Tony Greig.

On the occasion of its 23 rd anniversary Azharuddin who is now the president of Hyderabad cricket association tweeted some pictures from that famous final terming it as the best win under his captaincy. He tagged current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in those tweets but ignored to tag Sachin the main architect behind win. People in the social media came down heavily in Azharuddin for such act. Azhar tweeted ” 23 years ago, this week, India scripted an epic win over Australia. We played as a classic unit and gave the nation a gift to cherish. The team found an oasis in the deserts of #Sharjah.
It remains one of my finest cricket triumphs.
