Xtra Time Web Desk : Former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir recently gave his verdict on Virat Kohli, the batter. This statement came aftermath of former Team India skipper dropping a bombshell earlier this month, as he announced about his decision to step down as the country’s Test captain, just a day after the 1-2 Test series loss to South Africa.

In a recent interview on Sports Today, Gambhir said, "Nothing changes. When you are growing up as a kid you want to try and win games for the country and that is all that matters. You don't dream of captaining the side from day one so for me nothing changes. If it does then there is something seriously wrong. Captaincy is just a honour and responsibility and I'm sure Virat would be thinking the same way."

Now, with the home series against West Indies coming up next month, it would be intriguing to see if Kohli is able regain his lost form as a batter.
