Panama Bring 14 World Cup Players for India Clash in Bengaluru

XtraTime Webdesk: India is set to play their first friendly match against Panama and the Panama squad has 14 players who have played World Cup. Therefore, it is anticipated that the match is going to be electrifying and the Indian team is going to face some intense challenges.

At the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru the India-Panama friendly will take place on September 25. Previously the match was scheduled to play on September 26 but due to some reasons it was shifted by one day earlier by the All-India Football Federation.

In the 2026 FIFA World Cup 2026, Panama played and they have faced some world giants like England, Croatia, and Ghana in the group stage. Playing against some world class players has provided them with some valuable experience.

The 14 players of the Panama squad who have played in the World Cup are Orlando Mosquera, Cesar Blackman, Jorge Gutierrez, Amir Murillo, Andres Andrade, Jose Cordoba, Jiovany Ramos, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Carlos Harvey, Cristian Martinez, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Azarias Londono, Tomas Rodriguez and Jose Fajardo.

A few of these players are also playing for some clubs outside Panama. Amir Murillo plays for Besiktas in Turkey, Jose Cordoba plays for Norwich City in England, then Carlos Harvey plays for Minnesota United in Major League Soccer. While Jose Luis Rodriguez plays for FC Juarez in Mexico.

Thomas Christiansen the coach of Panama has also included names of six players who could make their international debut. The squad has also two players who have played domestic league in Panama.

For the Indian team this match will be another chance to test themselves against a team which has played World Cup recently. This will also provide them with a valuable experience before playing against the five-time world champions, Brazil.
