India's path to victory wasn't easy. South Africa needed just 30 runs from as many balls in their chase of 177. However, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya delivered under pressure, securing a thrilling 7-run victory for India.

The victory celebrations continued with great enthusiasm in Mumbai despite a three-day delay in the team’s return due to Hurricane Beryl in Barbados. The triumphant team was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast in New Delhi, and thousands of fans lined Marine Drive in Mumbai to cheer for them during an open-top bus parade. The BCCI also felicitated the team in a grand ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, awarding them a prize of Rs 125 crore.
