Xtra Time Web Desk: For years, Indian cricket compared Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli over who has been the greatest batter for the country. There are different schools of thoughts and arguments made in favour of both.

Latest to enter this debate in recent times has been Shubman Gill. The 24-year-old has already impressed many with his brilliant technique and remarkable knocks.

While young, many have already earmarked him as the next big thing in Indian cricket.

Lapping on the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and tools available, video created by an unknown individual(s) has gone viral where Kohli downplays Gill’s contributions and it is too soon to elevate him to the levels achieved by himself and Tendulkar.

In the doctored video, Virat Kohli can be heard saying that there’s a “big gap between showing promise and becoming a legend.” In the post, Kohli was also heard comparing himself with the Master Blaster.

The edited video claimed the former Indian skipper saying, “I have been watching Gill closely. He’s talented, no doubt. But there is a big gap between showing promise and becoming a legend. Gill’s technique is solid. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. People talk about the next Virat Kohli but let me be clear, there’s only one Virat Kohli.”

Last month, Gill had admitted there are expectations from him but it will be tough to replicate what Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have achieved.
