India's previous fastest fifty in Test cricket was recorded in 2008 against England in Chennai, where they reached the mark in 5.2 overs. This new record highlights the remarkable acceleration of the Indian team’s batting approach.
Not stopping there, India went on to break the record for the fastest team century in Test history, reaching 100 runs in just 61 balls (10.1 overs). This surpassed their own record of a century in 12.2 overs, set against West Indies in 2023.

Other milestones achieved include the fastest team 150 in Test history in 18.2 overs, fastest 200 in 24.4 overs, and the fastest 250 in just 30.4 overs, bettering England's 33.6 overs set against Pakistan last year. At the end of day's play, India declared at 285 for 9 wickets and in response to that Bangladesh are at 26 for the loss of 2 wickets.
