IND vs BAN: Litton Das falls to Rohit-Jadeja tactics as Tamim Iqbal praises strategy
Xtra Time Web Desk: Tamim Iqbal commended the tactical brilliance of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, which led to the key dismissal of Litton Das on Day 2 of the 1st Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai. India put on a commanding display, making significant inroads into the Bangladeshi batting order.
Despite a shaky start, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das put up some resistance, stitching together a 51-run stand off 94 balls. However, their fight came to an end when Litton attempted an ill-timed sweep shot against Jadeja, resulting in his dismissal at deep mid-wicket, caught by Dhruv Jurel. Rohit Sharma’s celebration spoke volumes about the importance of the breakthrough.

During the Tea break on Jio Cinema, Tamim Iqbal broke down the moment, lauding Rohit and Jadeja for their strategic planning to outfox Litton.
“The sweep was a wrong shot. It's a bit unnecessary. The spinners were putting Bangladesh under pressure, but there was no need to play that shot. The pitch wasn’t doing much; they should have played percentage cricket. They were fine until Litton played that sweep shot. It was a masterstroke from Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja,” Tamim explained.

He further noted, “There was a short leg in place just before the sweep shot, which then shifted to short point. This blocked the single and baited Litton into playing the risky sweep. The plan worked perfectly, and you could see that satisfaction on Rohit Sharma’s face.”
Bangladesh’s innings folded at 149, handing India a sizable lead of 227 runs. Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with four wickets, while Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, and Jadeja took two wickets apiece.
