Xtra Time Web Desk: The rape and brutal murder of a female doctor at R.G. Kar Hospital has shaken the entire world. Protests, demonstrations, and sit-ins are happening everywhere. Even Sourav Ganguly has demanded justice, lighting candles at protest platforms. He has vocally supported the call for exemplary punishment for the culprits.

However, Sourav Ganguly is facing attacks on social media. The former Indian cricket captain had remained silent and did not respond to the criticism. But on Tuesday, a YouTuber targeted Sourav with derogatory language in a social media video. The national cricket legend was deeply angered by this. Sourav has filed a formal complaint with the cybercrime division of the state police against the YouTuber, a copy of which is also with Xtra Time.In.

Sourav had strongly condemned the R.G. Kar incident. His wife, Dona Ganguly, organized a protest march through her dance school, Dikshamanjari. Despite the rain, Dona and their daughter Sana Ganguly participated in the march. At the end of the protest, Sourav lit a candle. He also spoke out against the R.G. Kar incident at several events. However, Sourav and his close associates claim that his statements have often been misinterpreted, leading to criticism. Dona’s comments also sparked controversy, leaving the dancer upset and frustrated.

Sourav revealed that he was particularly hurt by a YouTuber’s video. The YouTuber used Sourav’s images, videos, and statements on social media, claiming they would "roast" him. The video contained vulgar remarks about Sourav, even questioning how a biopic of Sourav was being made while he was still alive. Deeply outraged by the entire matter, Sourav began considering taking action. Accordingly, on Tuesday night, his personal assistant, Tania Bhattacharya, filed a complaint via email with the cybercrime division. The complaint included the YouTuber’s name and the video link, requesting immediate action.

Tania said, "The matter has gone too far. Extremely offensive language has been used for personal attacks. This needs to stop immediately. That's why we filed the complaint."

Sourav and Dona have also urged for an end to the repeated targeting of their family over various comments regarding the R.G. Kar incident.
