The game saw Turkey take an early lead in the 25th minute, when Mert Muldur unleashed a swerving volley from the edge of the box, leaving Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili with no chance. However, Georgia, participating in their first major international tournament, responded in the 32nd minute. Georges Mikautadze capitalized on a cross from Giorgi Kochorashvili, slotting the ball past Turkish goalkeeper Mert Gunok, who was caught out of position.

In the second half, Guler, who has been in excellent form following a series of goals for Real Madrid, restored Turkey's lead in the 65th minute. His superb long-range strike found the top corner, proving unstoppable for Mamardashvili. Georgia fought hard for an equalizer, pushing their goalkeeper forward for a series of corners in the dying moments of the game. However, this left them vulnerable at the back, and Kerem Akturkoglu took advantage by breaking away and scoring into an empty net during added time, sealing Turkey's 3-1 victory.
