XtraTime Web Desk: Young goalkeeper from West Bengal's Kakdwip Mithun Samanta and his family are in serious trouble after the cyclonic storm Amphan has destroyed the Kakdwip region on May 20, 2020. Mithun, who has played for Trau FC in I-League is currently homeless after the cyclone destroyed their small hut in the village. The only positive thing that has happened to him is that all members of his family are still alive. And another good news is coming that star goalkeeper Shilton Paul has come forward to help this young goalkeeper.

Though the cyclone has gone past almost two weeks ago but still Mithun is struggling to get back to his normal life as there is no electricity, internet and mobile network which is an essential thing for anyone. Though www.xtratime.in tried their best to contact him and know what's going on there atbthr moment. On being asked about that horrific day, Mithun said,"I won't forget that evening throughout my whole life. Our huts, cattles and trees were destroyed in front our eyes and unfortunately we couldn't do anything to stop it. It is my birth place and I have seen many cyclones like Aila, Bulbul, but never have seen such a destructive cyclone like Amphan. We didn't have any electricity since morning on the day the cyclone hit Kakdwip. After listening to the warning given by the local police authorities we understood that if we stay at our hut then we would die. That's why we left our hut on that night and took shelter at our grand father's place."

A few years ago Mithun played for both Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. He played for Trau FC in the last season. In this season Real Kashmir FC Head Coach David Robertson is eager to sign the talented kid for his side, but currently Mithun has no time to think about football right now, as he knows that to play football he must live first. Though the cyclone has taken everything from Mithun and his family but he has got one person to back him in this tough situation and that person is Shilton Paul. Thanking the senior goalkeeper Mithun said," I won't be able to repay Shilton Da after what he is doing for us right now. He is like a god to my family."

Shilton to revealed how he is helping Mithun's family." I don't want to say anything much on this matter. We went to Kakdwip, Namkhana to have a look at the places and we will again go their next Saturday to give essential things to 500 needy families. I have met Mithun there, and have provided him some financial aid as well."
