ISL 2020: ATK Mohun Bagan FC extends contract of Prabir Das for three seasons
XtraTime Web Desk: Indian Super League (ISL) club ATK Mohun Bagan FC on Wednesday announced the extension of contract of Prabir Das for three more seasons. The 26 year old right back was with ATK for last four seasons and was part of two championship winning side. He also plied his trade with Mohun Bagan for two seasons before joining ATK.
Expressing his excitement, Prabir said, “I am very happy to join ATK Mohun Bagan FC. I received lots of love from both the clubs and I am emotionally connected to both ATK and Mohun Bagan. As a Bengali I feel proud to be part of ATK Mohun Bagan FC. Eagerly waiting to be on the pitch for ATK Mohun Bagan FC.”
According to Prabir, “I started my professional football journey with Pailan Arrows where I had some wonderful memories. But the next few years did not turn out the way the footballer in me would have dreamt of. Those were hard times for me, and I was unsure of the way things would turn out. It was Mohun Bagan who trusted me and made me a part of their squad. If I would not have got that call and the chance to play at Mohun Bagan, I don’t know where I would have been now. The chance which I got at Bagan boosted my confidence and I was able to give my club my all. I tried to do all they had expected of me and I will be always thankful to them.”
He added, “Then I signed with ATK, and later got injured. But during those days, the trust and the support the management showed me was priceless. I came back and played with all my potential, gave my best for the club and we lifted the ISL trophy last season”
“Now it is a double delight for me, I am part of the ISL champions squad and I am going to be part of a wonderful club with a fantastic legacy who played an important role in making me who I am today”
“Words are not enough to express my feelings and how emotional I felt while completing my signing procedure with ATK Mohun Bagan FC”
