I-League 2018/19: Is the match commissioner of Chennai vs Minerva game suspecting a 'match fixing'?
XtraTime Web Desk: East Bengal supporters are eagerly waiting what Quess will do as there are rumors that the all important I-League match between Chennai City FC and Minerva Punjab FC were played un-sportingly. But now there is a good news for the Red & Gold supporters as the match commissioner of that game Mr. Bala Subramaniam has said in his report that the championship match was played "unsportingly". Though when www.xtratime.in talked with him he replied," My work was to send the match report to All India Football Federation and I have done that. I won't share anything with media." Though www.xtratime.in has the report in their hand which will shook everyone. Here is the pointers of the report. 1) Chennai City FC ‘s jersey number 19 (Pedro Manzi) shown a direction to the goalkeeper while taking the spot kick. The goalkeeper Nidhin Lal dived other side of the post. 2) Generally Ranjit Bajaj shows some excitement without caring referee's warnings as he goes to the sidelines and give advises to his players and also shows some gestures. This his why he got marching orders many times but in that game he was calmly sitting at the dugout. 3) In the 53rd minute Minerva’s goal scorer Roland was replaced by Minerva coach. Even Roland also surprised with that decision. 4) Even the footballers were angry to the coach as he substituted Juan Quero in the 76 th minute of the game. So the match commissioner's report is indicating to the 'fixing' attempt. Questions have been raised over Ranjit Bajaj's unsporting mentality. That day East Bengal was also scheduled to play their match with Gokulam Kerala FC. Despite being the winner East Bengal failed to lift the trophy as Minerva lost to Chennai City FC 3-1. East Bengal midfielder Kassim Aidara blamed Ranjit Bajaj but Minerva CEO denied all the aligations. When www.xtratime.in called Bajaj he said, "Not only the match commissioner but also the integrity officer Javed Siraj, I League CEO Ananda Dhar were present in the stadium and even AFC officials were there. They never alleged me for match fixing. When East Bengal was in the title race Mohun Bagan also lost to Chennai. No one alleged Mohun Bagan for fixing. I can't understand why only me and my team always alleged for the fixing?" Though East Bengal don't want to say anything much regarding this matter. Quess East Bengal CEO Sanjit Sen said, "We have a legal team. We will read the match commissioner’s report and send it to the legal team. We will follow their instruction."
