Xtra Time Web Desk: All eyes will be on star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as Chetan Sharma led selection committee meet to pick the Indian squad for upcoming white ball series against New Zealand at home. Jadeja is undergoing the final stages of his rehab at the National Cricket Academy. The all-rounder recently shared a couple of his pics of him spending time at the gym. If Jadeja is declared fit by NCA then he will definitely walk into the side.

It will be interesting if the new selection committee picks Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the T20I squad against the BlackCaps. The duo’s selection will be debated as a section in BCCI is in favour of giving opportunities to youngsters.

Jasprit Bumrah is most likely to be rested for the white ball series against the Kiwis. Bumrah will need extra time to get fit and will therefore be rested from the series against BlackCaps. Bumrah also stays doubtful for part of the test series against Australia.

Sanju Samson, who missed most part of the series against Sri Lanka due to injury is likely to be back. Samson played the first T20I against Sri Lanka on January 3. He was subsequently unable to play in the following two games due to a knee injury. No information has been released regarding whether or not he will become fit enough to join the squad.

It will be intriguing to see who will join Ishan Kishan as India’s backup wicketkeeper-batter for the T20I series if Sanju is ruled out.

The Men in Blue will play New Zealand in a three-match ODI series and three T20Is following the end of the current ODI series against Sri Lanka. The T20I matches will take place in Ranchi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad on January 27, 29, and February 1 respectively. The 50-over matches will be staged on January 18, 21, and 24 in Hyderabad, Raipur, and Indore.
