Fit-again Ravindra Jadeja all set for comeback in first test against Australia | INDvsAUS

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the cynosure of all eyes. The left hander looked supremely fit during the training session at the Vidarbha Cricket Association ground on Monday. He was seen bowling at Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Ravinchandran Ashwin along with Kuldeep Yadav and Sai Kishore. After bowling for almost 40 minutes, he batted along with Axar Patel. He batted with confidence against Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat.

Jadeja regained full fitness just in time for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, which begins on February 9 in Nagpur, successfully testing his fitness in a Ranji Trophy game for Saurashtra. He bowled 41.1 overs against Tamil Nadu and took eight wickets, including a seven-for, and made scores of 15 and 25.

He did admit in an interview to BCCI tv that he hadn’t felt the sun for about five months because he was training indoors and in the gym. He wondered if his body would sustain 90 overs out in the sun on the first day.

The cricketer from Saurashtra was involved in a freakish injury during the Asia Cup last August. He suffered a knee injury and had to undergo a surgery. He underwent his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

With Jadeja regaining full fitness, it is a huge boost for the Indian cricket team ahead of the much anticipated series against Australia.
