FIFA World Cup 2022: Virus threat in France camp two days ahead of the final against Argentina

Xtra Time Web Desk: A virus threat saw five footballers missing the training session of France, two days ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 final against Argentina at the Lusail Iconic Stadium. The virus problems have been plaguing the squad for some time now and are showing no signs of disappearing.

First it was Marcus Thuram, while still in the group stage, who went down, then Adrien Rabiot and Dayot Upamecano, who are with the squad in training this Friday, but now two central defenders, Raphael Varane and Ibrahima Konate have gone down with the virus.

Kingsley Coman, who was unable to play against Morocco on Wednesday, was also missing at Friday’s training session.

Also missing from France’s training session on Friday afternoon was Aurelien Tchouameni, who has a hip injury, according to the French federation, and Theo Hernandez, who has another knee injury following his collision with Sofiane Boufal.

The final is billed to be a mouth-watering clash with Lionel Messi taking on Kylian Mbappe. For the Argentine, it will be his final attempt to win the silverware while 23 year old Mbappe has already been part of World Cup winning side in 2018.
