FIFA World Cup 2022: Rashford & Foden strikes as England beat Wales 2-0; Three Lions seal spot in Rd 16

Xtra Time Web Desk: England cruised in to the Round of 16 in ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar following a 2-0 over Wales in a Group B clash at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on Tuesday night. Marcus Rashford (50′, 68′) scored a brace while Phil Foden (51′) was on target as well. The Three Lions will now take on Senegal in the pre-quarter final on Sunday, December 4,2022.

Phil Foden was the star of the match. The Manchester City footballer won a free-kick, which was brilliantly converted by Marcus Rashford in the 50th minute. Moments later he was on target as he tucked in at the back post. Marcus Rashford scored his second goal of the night after he picked up a ball over the top from sub-Kalvin Phillips before cutting inside his marker and firing through the legs of Danny Ward.

In another Group B fixture on Tuesday night, USA defeated Iran 1-0 at the Al Thumama Stadium. Christian Pulisic scored the winner for USA in the 38th minute to take his side into the Round of 16. The Chelsea suffered an abdominal injury and had to be taken to hospital.

USA will take on Netherlands in pre-quarters on Saturday.
