Kolkata: The Brazilians left the city around 10 in the morning for Guwahati to play against England in the all the all important semi final of the FIFA U17 World Cup 2017. Owing to heavy downpour, the Brazil squad was stuck at the airport for a while. It didn’t take more than 24 hours to change the scenario, as Carlos Amadeu’s Brazil had to return to Kolkata again as the venue got rescheduled at the Salt Lake Stadium. The poor weather and ground conditions at Guwahati gave the football crazy city of Kolkata another chance to host their favourite team Brazil.
England too has been in stupendous form and they too arrived around 12:30am at night, about thirty minutes after the Brazilian team left the airport for the team hotel. England demolished The USA in the other quarter final at Goa by 4-1 and was headed towards Guwahati. But both the teams returned to Kolkata by their respective chartered flights to play the mouth-watering semi final.
With the likes of Paulinho, Angel Gomes, Brenner and Foden like characters involved in the much awaited game, it has all the ingredients to offer Tge Salt Lake Stadium yet another clasdic contest.
