Xtra Time Web Desk: The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup has been rescheduled in India next year from October 11 to 30, 2022, the FIFA Council announced on Thursday. The marquee event had to be cancelled after the coronavirus pandemic last year. It was originally scheduled to be held in India in 2020. But the COVID-19 pandemic first forced its postponement to 2021 and then its cancellation. Last November, as a compensatory gesture, FIFA announced India as the host for the 2022 edition.
It is learnt Bhubaneswar will stage the final of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India. Kolkata, which hosted the final of the FIFA U17 Men’s World Cup will host a few group league matches as well as the semi final.
