Internet Desk: Newly elected FIFA president Gianni Infantino started his work with at FIFA friendly football match. Infantino hosted this football match next to FIFA’s headquarters at Zurich. A host of stars including Robert Pires, Michael Salgado, Deco, Fabio Cannavaro, Clarence Seedorf,Paolo Maldini and two current players Kelly Smith of Arsenal Ladies and Julia Simic of Wolfsburg participated in this match. Infantino’s team eventually lost the game which was a seven-a-side match.
The former lawyer was elected as President on Friday. He became the 9th president in FIFA’s 112-year history. Infantino said that he still didn’t know what would be his salary as a FIFA president. Infantino will be paid less than Sepp Blatter whose salary and bonuses have never been made public but will be revealed in the 2015 financial report of FIFA. He also added that bidding for the 2026 World Cup will start in next couple of months.
Meanwhile UEFA will name a temporary General Secretary who will take over from Infantino,the new FIFA president.
