XtraTime Web Desk: Goals from either sides of the break saw holders Manchester City beat Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter final at St James Park on Sunday night. City will now take on Arsenal while Manchester United will meet Chelsea in the two semi finals on July 18. Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were on the score sheet for City.

In the other quarter finals played on Sunday Arsenal registered a 2-1 away win over Sheffield United while Leicester lost 0-1 to Chelsea at home. Earlier on Saturday Manchester United got the better of Norwich City 2-1. This will be the first time since 1987 when all the quarter finals were won by the away teams.

Following their loss against Chelsea in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s side was fired up. City dominated the proceedings since the start of play. They were gifted a penalty when Fabian Schar needlessly fouled Gabriel Jesus inside his own box. De Bruyne made no mistake from the spot kick to give City the lead in the 37th minute. Raheem Sterling extended the lead for his side with a clinical finish in the 68th minute.

Despite losing the Premier League title to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola’s side still has the opportunity to win three titles this season. City has already won the League Cup and is still in fray in the Champions League.
