East Bengal to offer new contracts to their latest recruits. Find why?

XtraTime Web Desk: Kolkata giants East Bengal have been signing quite a few players for the forthcoming season, but a few days ago a news came in that they have a ‘contractual situation’ with the new footballers. All the new signings have happened between the footballers and ‘East Bengal Club’.

The problem is ‘East Bengal Club’ don’t have any sporting rights to participate in either I-League or ISL as of now. It is currently in the hand of Quess East Bengal- which is a joint association between the investor Quess Corp and the club who have taken a decision that they won’t continue this tie in the next season.

Talks are on between the club and Quess in order to negotiate the transfer of sporting rights.

East Bengal officials have also been searching for a new investor and are seeking help from the Government of West Bengal to play in the upcoming Indian Super League season 7.

The club officials have promised the signed footballers that their contracts will be executed again, on existing terms, under the new entity that will enjoy the sporting rights once the sporting rights are eventually transferred back to the club.

For formality sake, the players will have sign a contract again, under the new entity’s name
