Kolkata: Mohammedan Sporting President Sultan Ahmed’s shocking death has certainly created a huge void in Mohammedan Sporting. The man who has done so much for the club and especially as a resident for almost a decade, can’t be replaced at will. Mohammedan Sporting was hugely dependent on Sultan Ahmed as he also used to be a solution to every financial as well as administrative trouble for the club.

As per the reliable sources, www.xtratime.in has learnt that the honourable Chief Minister of the Government of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee has personally requested Mr Firhad Hakim to take the responsibility of the club. Firhad is known for his interest in Kolkata Football.

Though Firhad told XtraTime, “I’m at Mecca now.” But as per the sources, it’s he Firhad who is all set to take the charge.

Today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former coach Mridul Banerjee and the other dignitaries came to show their last respect. Mohammedan Sporting will play against Customs tomorrow in the Calcutta Football League and there would be two minutes of silence in the memory of Sultan Ahmed before the kick off.The Kolkata football fraternity mourns the deepest condolences for Mr Sultan Ahmed.
